The five-day conference will be attended by world leaders

Abudhabi: As a representative of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Your Majesty Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, will head the UAE delegation to the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5), which gets underway tomorrow in Doha, Qatar. The five-day summit will feature a number of world leaders as well as business executives, members of civil society, and young people.

The global conference aims to hasten sustainable development in the areas that most urgently require foreign aid, in addition to maximising the potential of the Least Developed Countries and aiding them in progressing towards prosperity.

The conference covers building capacity, investing in human capital, eradicating poverty, and using science, technology, and innovation to help underdeveloped countries.

The conference also examines how to support LDCs in engaging in global trade, regional integration, combating climate change, overcoming the COVID-19 epidemic, and building resilience.
