Key Responsibilities of the role:

Finance Activities:

Is responsible for the overall finance function of the business in the region. Direct and coordinate preparation of financial statements and business plan, business activity, financial position forecasts and annual budgets
Is a service provider of financial information to Group headquarters
Develop an in-depth knowledge of the activity of the business including sales by market, retail outlets as well as advertising spend etc
Work closely with operational managers and will be expected to develop excellent knowledge of the business units? operating environments (market size, industry trends, competitors etc), challenge the operational teams and their assumptions and propose revisions
Manage monthly and annual reporting on a timely basis
Prepare and analyze budgets, plans and budget revisions working closely the operational teams (marketing, sales etc), challenge their teams and assumptions and propose revisions.
Oversee the P&L and balance sheets (margins, stock levels, receivables, payables); analyze and recommend on monthly figures from business units compared to budget and last year.
Manage the Cashflow, both on a day to day basis and by ensuring that accurate forecasts are made and monitored
Monitor the returns on investment for all capital expenditure, in particular in retail boutiques
Liaise with Group headquarters and local partners
Support operational managers in managing, tracking, monitoring, and reporting financial data as requested
Overall responsibility for accounting accuracy
Assist Group headquarters in the implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management.
Implement reports and controls to ensure effective asset management, and assure budgeting and controls become instrumental in the division’s operations.

Audit and control

Ensure compliance with Group accounting and internal control policies
Work with internal and external auditors to provide requested supporting documentation and explanations and ensure annual monitoring is carried out. Ensure that the audits are completed on time.
Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
Ensure the safeguard of all assets (stocks, receivables?) under his /her control

People Management

Understand and communicate the organization?s priorities to ensure team?s alignment with Group?s objectives
Supervise assigned personnel (e.g. screening, interviewing, recommending, training, evaluating, etc.) for the purpose of enhancing productivity of staff, and ensuring that department outcomes are achieved
Oversee workload of department for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the work force and meeting operational requirements
Ensure proper induction of new employees
Responsible for conducting periodic performance appraisal to all assigned staff, and for growth, development, engagement and motivation, coaching and guiding of the department?s employees.

Undertake other relevant duties as may be requested.

Skills and requirements:

In order to deliver the main responsibilities of the role, you will need the following skills:

Technical skills:

University Degree in Finance and Accounting
Minimum of 5 years within a relevant experience
OLAP, Excel/MS Office, and other in-house software to generate reports
Theories of forecasting, budgeting, auditing principals, cash management?
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze an issue with a macro- as well as micro-perspective.
Mathematics, knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
Critical Thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
The ability to maintain quality standards in all operations

Soft skills:

Commercial, sales driven approach is essential
Ability to multi-task, plan and manage time and resources, establish priorities and manage deadlines
Excellent attention to detail, in order to support the needs of the business and to provide a polished and professional service
