Dubai: Shaikh Hamdan of Dubai has presented a futuristic vision of the city in which Sheikh Zayed Road is dominated by flying cars, brand-new skyscrapers, and enormous screens.

Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Head of the Executive Council, posted the vision on Instagram.

The magnificent piece of art, created by digital artist Fabio Araujo, depicts Dubai in the not too distant future.

Dubai in the future

At first glance, it appears to be a standard image of Sheikh Zayed Road taken after sunset. The Museum of the Future, a Metro Station, and the Emirates Towers skyscrapers are among the recognizable features that can be seen.

Nevertheless, if you magnify the image, you might be able to see a sneak peek of some potential future developments.

This artist’s conception of Dubai features what appear to be high-rise city observation decks, contemporary buildings, and flying robots that resemble spaceships.

The well-known thoroughfare is also crossed by sky-bridges, enormous screens, and shimmering lights.

Fabio Araujo, a visual artist, has been in the United Arab Emirates for nine years. He specializes in creating computer representations of dystopian urban environments.

He said, “Dubai has been a terrific experience. The inspiration I get from this place inspires me to be more creative every day. I often relate to it in my work, and I enjoy seeing what the future holds through the eyes of my creatures.

“Today, I had the chance to witness one of my works in a post by Sheikh Hamdan, and it really moved me.

I am grateful for the possibilities and experiences Dubai has given me because of the enormous impact it has had on my life.

Future ideas of well-known landmarks in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have already been featured on Araujo’s Instagram feed. Also, the artist has produced a concept piece that imagines Dubai as an eco-city with sustainable farming in an underground park beneath Sheikh Zayed Road.

A near-future redesign of the Burj Al Arab hotel is depicted in a post from April of last year.

The future design of DXB Airport is depicted in another piece of art by the Brazilian artist.

The artwork was published by Sheikh Hamdan without a comment, but it wasn’t the first time he’d shown his more than 15 million Instagram followers a future concept painting of Dubai.

A video Sheikh Hamdan released went viral in December of last year during the rainy season. The iconic Burj Khalifa appeared to be opening up in the CGI film, and a huge umbrella appeared to be sprouting from its top to shield the tower and everyone below from the rain.
