Abu Dhabi: As part of the Covid restrictions, the mandatory thermal scanning system that was introduced in various places in Abu Dhabi has been removed. The circular in this regard was issued by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) with the approval of the National Disaster Management Authority.
Thermal scanning was installed at the entrances of shopping malls, commercial centers, tourist centers and some hotels to check body temperature. Further relaxations in precautionary measures have been announced in the context of a sharp decline in the number of Covid cases. A similar notice has been sent by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development to various commercial establishments.
Along with the thermal scanning system, the technology used to detect viral infections has also been eliminated by EDE. At the same time, the authorities reminded that the green pass on the Al Hosn app is mandatory for entering public places. Several relaxations in the Covid norms were announced last month, including increasing the validity of the Green Pass to 30 days.
Masks are also not required to be worn inside planes. Schools, shopping malls, supermarkets, hotels, bars and restaurants can go without a mask. Masks are mandatory in healthcare facilities including hospitals, mosques and public transport.
