Dubai: A three-day campaign has been announced by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai for those with visa-related problems, such as overstaying their welcome or having their permits expire.

The “A Homeland for All” project seeks to help people who are having problems because their visas or permits have expired.

GDRFA Dubai stated that the campaign’s first part successfully ended at City Centre Deira on Saturday through an Instagram story. The second phase and a new location would also soon be announced, it was stated.

Lieutenant Colonel Salem bin Ali, the director of the Customer Happiness Department of GDRFA Dubai, had earlier advised people to visit City Centre Deira without any hesitation in an Instagram story. He stated that even if people have financial problems, they will still receive remedies.

According to Lt. Col. bin Ali, whether someone overstayed for one day or ten years, our team will be there to assist them and inform them of the appropriate processes.  Do not be afraid to visit us; we will help you with your issue and find a solution.

The program attempts to promote a culture of adherence to the UAE’s immigration and residency regulations. According to the GDRFA, the campaign will run until Monday.

The campaign is a part of the GDRFA’s initiatives to help people resolve status-related problems without facing consequences or penalties.

The authorities invited all overstayers to take advantage of this chance to travel within the three-day window to their preferred location.

Every measure will be taken to preserve the confidentiality and privacy of the applicants.
