Good News for Expatriates; UAE withdraws Covid Restrictions

Dubai: The UAE government announced on Sunday that it is lifting all the restrictions imposed for the safety of the country’s residents due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The UAE government has finally put an end to two-and-a-half years of strict Covid rules and precautionary measures. The rules including wearing of masks have now been relaxed.

The UAE health department said masks are optional in all open and closed places, including places of worship and mosques. But masks are mandatory in places including hospitals. Officials said the phase-N relaxations were approved by monitoring the number of Covid-19 cases and the occupancy rate of hospitals.

We announce that all restrictions and precautionary measures related to Covid have been lifted. But it is mandatory to wear a mask in places including hospitals – UAE health department officials said.

The new concessions will come into effect from November 7. Al Hosn Green Pass is not required to enter public places and events, officials said. The Al Hosn application will henceforth be the only mechanism to access details of vaccinations received and covid test results.

At the same time, the authorities have informed that the covid testing centers and treatment centers will continue to function as usual.  The National Emergency Disaster Management Committee has informed that there will be no change in the requirement that people infected with Covid-19 should stay in isolation for five days.  According to the nature of the event, those who organize sports competitions and others can ask for Covid-negative certificates and vaccination certificates.
